Lead auditors are qualified based on experience in the food industry, education, training and auditing experience. A persons path to becoming a Lead Auditor will vary depending on these factors.
The first step is to have experience in the food industry in a role with food safety responsibilities. That experience, combined with a registered Lead Auditor Course (RABQSA or IRCA 40 hour course) will get you started on your lead auditor qualifications.
