Overview
Continuous rotary retorts have been used in canneries throughout the world, and today they process about 50% of all commercially produced sterile cans. Even with their widespread use, continuous retorts have a set of critical factors that must be considered during processing.
This course will cover
- critical factors for continuous retorts
- retort structure and construction materials
- intake and discharge valves and other equipment (i.e. pressure gauges)
- heating and cooling process
Each Chapter includes videos, followed by interactive exercises that allow you to work with the information, and practice using it using real-world scenarios. There are interactive exercises within the training which you must pass, with a score of 80%, in order to move on to the next. If you do not pass, you may try again.
